Farm history
Chronicle
According to the parish archive of Taufers, farm “Lindemair” – in former times called “Lindmair” – was mentioned for the first time in the year 1442. In the course of time, a lot of generations and families enlarged the farm, among others by some properties in the Austrian valley, Zillertal. Various family names appear in the farm chronicle: Oberhollenzer, Niederkofler, Steger… – just to mention a few. For some years now the Holzer family have been the proud owners of farm “Lindemair”.
Farmhouse “Lindemair”: Experience a piece of history
Farmhouse “Lindemair” is one of the oldest houses in the Tauferer Ahrntal Valley and is more than 600 years old. From 2013 to 2015, it was elaborately and painstakingly restored, according to rigorous standards of the office of monument protection of South Tyrol. Natural building materials, such as stone, wood, lime and iron, were used for the restoration. Since this rural treasure is full of valuable elements, such as the old farmer’s stoves, we tried to preserve them and combine them with modern high-quality details. In this way tradition meets modernity.
The farm animals…
Our farm, where we have been producing organic hay milk for some years now, is home to cows and calves, which can move about as they please in their free-stall barn or on the pasture. Max, the farm dog, makes sure that everything is alright all around the farm. Right next to the cowshed you will see the two horses enjoying the day in the paddock. The chickens have also found a nice place on farm “Lindemair”, and every now and then you will see one of the farm cats rambling about in the garden or around the barn.
